Contribute to a better environment with lagoon® Advance Care
In 2005, after the retirement of the previous owner, Michèle Vernhet took over Pressing Le Parc, present in Avignon since the 1950s. Aware of the changes that operate in the profession, she chose to invest in a new process, in line with the regulations. For this, she invested in the lagoon® Advanced Care wet-cleaning system developed by Electrolux.
Originally, Michèle Vernhet, operating owner of Pressing Le Parc, was destined to become a tailor. In 1967, she acquired her diploma in tailoring. Part of her life abroad of twenty years, she first worked in real estate for seven years.
A personal challenge
With a degree in economics, at age 50, she was seeking an alternative to unemployment. An opportunity arose, and she then decided to buy Pressing Le Parc. “In the meantime, I worked in discount cleaning businesses,” she commented.
A reasoned choice
A visit to the JEP Expo convinced Michèle Vernhet: after taking the time to think but especially, to have tested the process, she choose Electrolux. “The chemistry that accompanies the lagoon® process is particularly well studied: in addition to protecting the fabrics, it provides excellent color retention, not to mention the health benefits. Also it leaves a real sense of freshness and a clean smell.”

Technology at the service of know-how
“We continue to work in a traditional way to satisfy our customers with quality services. For this, we have invested in high-tech equipment,” explains Michèle. “This latest generation equipment is extremely easy to use and allows us to work on almost all types of fabrics, natural or synthetic. This is an undeniable asset, especially as we address both individuals and the demanding clientele of hotels and guest houses. In this sense, the fact that lagoon® is a Woolmark approved process is an additional guarantee of safety and reliability. Electrolux was the first to offer us a really different solution. lagoon® Advanced Care is fast and efficient, it’s clear,” states Michèle Vernhet.
The passion of a profession
Accustomed to very delicate fabrics – Michèle regularly deals with items from opera or theater shows – the professional seems far from being bored by her business. “We are a bit of the magicians in clothing: our know-how, our professionalism, our patience too, make the difference,” states Michèle enthusiastic. She adds, “The lagoon® Advanced Care process works with biodegradable products and that counts as well! Because the impact of our business is not underestimated on the environment. So, let’s try to improve it.”
